Leadership, experience, Stafford
County Sun, 10/30/09
Paul Ortiz has my vote in the Aquia
Supervisor's race. He's a 30-year Marine with a long record of integrity and
service to country and community. He has a wealth of leadership experience
in successfully managing major budgets and in promoting program
efficiency--things Stafford sorely needs.
On the issues, he's long been a strong
supporter of quality public education (his kids are Brooke Point High School
graduates) and strategically targeting transportation funds to reduce
congestion and promote safety (not facilitate more development). He's
already shown a willingness to stand up to developers to protect citizens'
interests. He's done his homework exposing the real record of the incumbent.
Finally, he's the only candidate in this
campaign who's run a "clean money" effort, refusing developer
donations and reporting the source of all his contributions--an important
first step towards more open and accountable government. His website (PaulOrtiz.org)
has more details on all of this. Check it out.
